“Theater…Education…Community”
Building community through the arts for all ages and abilities
The Austin, Texas area has a thriving Christian arts and homeschooling community! We have youth choir and theater groups, homeschool classes and co-ops, and dance programs, as well as many adult performers and artists, looking for a place to showcase their talents, but it’s a challenge to find an affordable quality venue in the Austin area. Horizon Hall was founded in 2024 for just this purpose.
However, the Hall is in the building phase. We are actively working on building a multi-use facility for local educational programs, youth and community theater programs, and community enrichment. This is to include a 200-250 seat black box type theater that can be configured for a variety of stage and seating plans. The building will also include an orchestra area, dressing rooms, set shop, costume shop, dance studio, and classroom space. We are excited to announce that we have purchased a property in central Round Rock at 204 Chisholm Trail with our goal to break ground in 2026.
How can you be involved? We are fundraising to start construction and outfit the hall for use. Individual donors may give towards the building project, choose specific projects to fund, or give toward the operating expenses so that we can make the space available to these groups at an affordable rate. Individual donors can give a one-time donation or set up a monthly donation. As a 501(c)3 non-profit, donations are tax deductible.
We are also looking for corporate sponsors. For qualifying sponsorships, we will include your ad in our newsletter and on our website, and your name on our sponsorship wall. Corporate donors may sponsor specific activities or programs, the general operating fund, or specific projects like stage tech, dance/music studios, or the set and costume shop.
Local businesses and organizations may also be a neighborhood partner helping us host special events for the local community! We want to host family and youth dances, family movie nights, parent date nights, and other family-friendly activities. We would love local businesses to donate refreshments, prizes for contests, products, or services to help make these events a success!
Specific spaces within Horizon Hall are available to rent by the hour, day, week, or semester for your class, concert, event, church services, or production. We will work with you to set dates and rates.
Along with renting classroom space to homeschool groups, after school programs, and arts organizations, Horizon Hall hopes to also offer our own classes to teach sound design, lighting design, set building, and costuming. We welcome hearing from others who would be interested in teaching theater tech skills.
Horizon Hall will also host a variety of community events. We want to prioritize family friendly activities like dances and movie nights, but we also look forward to other free events for community participation like reader’s theater, improv games, Ceilidhs, swing dancing, and jams. We will also have special events specifically for our donors and patrons throughout the year.
Have your performance professionally recorded.
